Debra Wong began her piano studies at the age of five. From 1992 onwards she studied with Mr. Ngai Yau-shan, and has since won numerous prizes in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival including the Piano Concerto Class (Aged 18 and under). She entered the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1998, studying with Ms. Eleanor Wong and graduated in 2000 with a Diploma in Performing Arts (Music). From 2002 to 2005 she was an undergraduate student majoring in English at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, while studying piano with Professor David Gwilt.

Having been awarded the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) in piano performance with distinction in 2003, she was invited to perform in the ABRSM Diploma Award Ceremony held in Hong Kong in November 2004. In 2004 she was further made a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music (FRSM), the most prestigious award of the institution, with distinction.

She has participated in the San Francisco International Summer Music Festival in 1999, the International Summer Academy organized by the University Mozarteum, Salzburg in 2002 and 2005, and the 11th Annual Ameropa Chamber Music Festival held in Prague in 2004.

She was admitted to the full-time programme of Master of Music in piano performance of the Royal Academy of Music in London in September 2005 in continuation of her pursuit of music, studying with Ms. Diana Ketler. She has now completed her studies and is due to officially graduate in June 2008.
